Step 1- Wipe and dry your application surface.

A clean, smooth and dry application surface is absolutely necessary to facilitate the proper bonding of the vinyl decals to the application surface. All surfaces are contaminated to some degree; hence it is advisable to give it a quick wipe down prior to application. Remember, this is a dry application method, do remove excess water with a clean lint-free towel/cloth.

*The decal will not stick as well to any oil or waxy surface. Avoid using soap, oils and any product containing wax or silicon. Lukewarm water is sufficient. If you're applying the decal onto a glass, refrain from using Windex or other ammonia-based cleaners; the ammonia will interferes with the adhesive.

*For freshly painted walls, please allow to dry and cure for 2 weeks before applying the decals.

*Do not apply on surface that is powdery or flaky. Make sure that the application surface that you choose is away from high heat and out of direct sunlight reach.

Step 2- Plan your layout

A good rule of thumb in applying your decal is to plan your layout. Although Somethin' Urby vinyl decal is removable, it is not reusable and repositioning of the decal many times may affect its adhesiveness. Proceed to test your layout by temporarily positioning the decal in place by using masking tape.

*You may separate each decal with a sharp scissors.

Step 3- Remove approximately 1/3 and fold the backing layer

Once you are ready to proceed, remove approximately 1/3 (1/4 is fine too) of the backing layer (from the top) and fold as shown. Then position and stick the exposed area to the surface in the position as planned.

*You will notice that there are three layers to each sheet; the transfer paper(clear), the decal itself, and the paper backing to the decal.

*Squeegee lightly across the transfer paper if the decal stick to the backing layer ( squeegee with the backing paper behind).

Step 4- Remove the entire backing layer

Whilst holding the sheets to the wall, remove the entire backing layer by pulling it from behind and away from the rest of the sheets. Once removed, hold and
lift the sheet up and away from the wall.

* Remember to only hold the exposed decals by the transfer paper

Step 5- Affix your decal

Squeegee the transfer paper from the top center downwards and outwards. Use firm, short, overlapping strokes to ensure that the decal is firmly affixed to the surface and to remove any air bubble trapped in between the decal and the surface.

 _________________________________________________________

Step 6- Remove the transfer paper

Once you have smoothed out the decal, wait 15-20 minutes before removing the transfer paper. To remove the transfer paper, just start at one corner and carefully peel away from the vinyl at 180 degree angle. Should the decal pulls away from the surface, just stop and smooth back the transfer paper, re-squeegee the affected area and wait for an additional 10 minutes before removing it again. After removing the transfer paper, re-squeegee all edges. If there is still any air bubble left, simply puncture the bubbled area with a pin/needle/thumbtack and then gently smooth out the decal from the edge of the bubble towards the puncture.

WELL DONE!

Repeat the steps accordingly for the rest of your design layout.
